About Us
HANNA RAKOWSKA, BHS, RHN, CHCP, RDH
Hanna is a Registered Holistic Nutritionist and Certified Holistic Cancer Practitioner. She maintains her private practice, Back to Balance Nutrition, in Vancouver, BC, where she specializes in providing nutrition therapy for cancer patients during and after treatment. Additionally, she is the nutritionist at the Gerard Tan & Associates Integrative Cancer Centre and Together We Can Drug & Alcohol Recovery Education Society.
Having overcome cancer at the age of 20, Hanna experienced firsthand the profound impact of nutrition and other holistic healing modalities on her treatment outcomes and recovery. This experience transformed her life, motivating her to make a career change to be able to help others on their journey with cancer.
Hanna’s mission is to make nutrition therapy a mandatory part of every cancer treatment, as well as raise awareness about the role of dietary and other lifestyle factors in cancer prevention. She is dedicated to empowering cancer patients and enabling them to take control of their health throughout every phase of their cancer treatment. She is immensely grateful and honoured to be a part of the Trucks of Hope initiative and be able to support children facing cancer.

Why we started:
Trucks of Hope blossomed out of our son, Isaiah's, love for trucks and his compassionate heart. Isaiah was diagnosed with brain cancer in February of 2021 and he is who inspired us to start this organization to help other families with a child fighting cancer.

All of the tools provided in the kits were items we used ourselves and still use today. We also had nutritional coaching by Hanna who truly opened our eyes to the importance and benefits of eating well. Not only did all of this help our son thrive through his treatments, but it has helped our entire family live well. As the saying goes... know better, do better!
